Off to New York! Broadway Marathon: 8 Shows in 6 Days – Will It Kill Me?

From January 2nd to January 10th, I’m heading to the theater capital of the world—Broadway! And this isn’t just a casual visit. Nope, I’m taking on a full-fledged Broadway marathon. That’s right, in just 6 days, I’ll be seeing 8 shows. Am I prepared? Who knows. Will I survive? Let’s hope so!

As someone who spent numerous years with the Radio City Rockettes, Christmas in New York City has always held a special place in my heart. There’s just something magical about the city during the holiday season—the lights, the hustle and bustle, and of course, the magic of Broadway. But this year feels even more special, and that’s because it’s shaping up to be an incredible year for dancing men on the Broadway stage.

Honestly, it feels like a lifetime ago when men were the true feature in shows. I think back to productions like West Side Story and The Who’s Tommy—some of the last iconic shows that really celebrated male dancers in a powerful way. I have to admit, I’m a bit heartbroken to have missed The Who’s Tommy revival this year, but what’s easing that sadness is the anticipation of seeing The Outsiders on stage. Just thinking about it has me breathless!

The combination of high-energy dancing and storytelling has always been my favorite part of Broadway, and this season, I can’t wait to see the men of Broadway stepping up to take center stage again. From new shows to revivals, it feels like Broadway is finally recognizing the power of male dancers once more, and I’m thrilled to be there to witness it.

So, here’s to 8 shows in 6 days. It’s going to be a whirlwind, but I’m ready to dive headfirst into the excitement and magic of Broadway. Wish me luck—and if you see someone sprinting from one theater to the next, coffee in hand, just know that’s me living the dream!

Stay tuned for updates, reviews, and all the Broadway goodness. Let’s do this!

1. The Great Gatsby

F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic tale of wealth, love, and the American Dream takes the stage in a brand-new production. I'm curious to see how the glamour and tragedy of Gatsby's world will be translated into a Broadway spectacle.

2. Death Becomes Her

Yes, the cult-classic film starring Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn has become a Broadway musical! If the show is half as campy, hilarious, and over-the-top as the movie, I’m in for a treat.

3. Gypsy

A timeless classic. Seeing Gypsy on Broadway has been a long-time dream of mine. The powerhouse performances, legendary score, and larger-than-life story of stage mother Rose will be an unforgettable highlight.

4. Cabaret

There's nothing like stepping into the decadent and dark world of the Kit Kat Club. With all its razzle-dazzle and poignant undertones, Cabaret will no doubt be a theatrical feast.

5. Oh Mary

A fresh face in this season’s lineup, Oh Mary promises a mix of comedy and heart. With a title like that, I’m intrigued to see what surprises this new production holds.

6. Hell’s Kitchen

You guessed it—a musical set in the infamous New York neighborhood. This gritty, high-energy show is bound to bring the intensity and drama. I can’t wait to see how Broadway interprets the wild side of the city!

7. Cult of Love

A new production that's already generating buzz. Cult of Love explores obsession, loyalty, and what it means to belong. I’m expecting something dark, edgy, and thought-provoking with this one.

8. The Outsiders

One of my all-time favorite novels (and movies) is now on stage! The Outsiders will close out my marathon, and I know I'll be crying by the end—“Stay gold, Ponyboy” is always a tear-jerker.

Can I Do It?

Eight shows. Six days. Is it madness? Possibly. But I live for this! Whether I’m left drained or utterly inspired, this Broadway binge will be an experience I’ll never forget. From iconic classics to edgy new productions, I’m ready to dive headfirst into this whirlwind of talent, spectacle, and emotion.

Broadway, here I come!
