Exciting New Partnership: Spindrift School of Performing Arts Teams Up with Red Barn Productions for Dickens Fair Youth Program!

Spindrift School of Performing Arts (SSPA) is thrilled to announce an exciting new partnership with Red Barn Productions, the parent company of the beloved Dickens Fair! This collaboration will introduce a groundbreaking youth program designed to train the next generation of immersive performers who will bring the magic of Victorian London to life at the renowned annual event.

Immersive Theater Meets Hands-On Training

The Dickens Fair has long been known for its enchanting, immersive experience that transports guests into the world of Charles Dickens. Through this partnership, SSPA students will now have the unique opportunity to learn from seasoned professionals and hone their acting skills in an environment that celebrates historical storytelling, improvisation, and character-driven performance.

The youth program will be much more than a typical acting class. Students will receive specialized training in improvisation, period mannerisms, dialects, and the art of interacting with audiences in a way that makes them feel as though they’ve stepped back in time. These tools will empower the young performers to fully embody their characters and seamlessly integrate into the larger Dickens Fair world.

A Journey from Classroom to Performance

Participants in this program won’t just be learning about immersive theater—they will be living it. Throughout their training, students will develop their own unique characters with individual storylines, adding depth and authenticity to their performances. Their journey will culminate in actual appearances at the Dickens Fair, where they will join the ranks of the Fair's famous characters, contributing to the rich tapestry of its immersive experience.

The young actors will also have the opportunity to cross paths with some of the most iconic and beloved Dickens Fair characters, creating exciting "cross-over" moments that blend their storylines with familiar faces. This dynamic storytelling will make for an unforgettable experience both for the students and the Fair's audience.

A New Generation of Performers

SSPA and Red Barn Productions are committed to nurturing the talents of young actors, providing them with an immersive theater experience that goes beyond the stage. This partnership will help these budding performers develop confidence, creativity, and teamwork as they learn the ins and outs of bringing historical figures to life in an interactive environment.

As part of this initiative, students will engage in character workshops, scene development, and collaboration with veteran actors from the Dickens Fair. This hands-on learning experience is designed to prepare them for their roles at the Fair and a lifetime of performing arts opportunities.
